I couldn't agree more J5, I too think the new Sugar UI is hot.

Call me crazy, but I've never been a fan of either Apple or Windows UI and I can't wait to have a bit-o-Sugar on my own computer.

Oh-s news!

They (Thom) have looked on term "human interface guidelines" from another perspective - not how one should develop, but how one should use an application.

If you think about it long enough, the idea is not so bad at all! Maybe there should be some, let's say, "user interface guidelines" for users?!

..or maybe not :)

Anyway, go on with your work - i am totally confident that OLPC will come out big, and at it's time it will be not only ultimate tool for teaching kids, but also may totally turn arround any teaching class.

Oh, last one - there is one quite amusing saying propagating ignorance - "The dogs are barking, but the caravan goes on" :)

In general, if OSNews things you're on the wrong track then everything is going well. It's consistently irrelevant.

The sugar UI seems about right. Kids learn stuff.

The Sugar UI is very tied to the hardware. For instance the different "zoom levels" have corasponding buttons on the keybord. Also they make a lot more sense when you have a bunch of people in your wireless mesh (you will see them at the different zoom levels). Of course we are very early in the development of Sugar so some things will be kept and improved while other things may be dropped.

OSNews is always a good laugh. I like the way that it's like Slashdot, but slightly less sophisticated.
Keep up the nice work dude!
